Andy Lam of MODERN RECORDS, and FUNG HANG RECORD LTD have sent me their first 1Step UHQLP Vinyl Record Album, ZHAO CONG “SOUND OF CHINA, DANCE IN THE MOON” (PIPA ALBUM), double 45RPM in HQ 180g (MCD3101LP45).
This album was earlier released in UHQCD/DSD (MCD3101UHQ), which I found it to be sonically clean, detail, and dynamic. Therefore. I have used it in my component reviews.
The same album but in a different format…what to expect?
After a listen, I gasped in disbelief…the original UHQCD was already impressive(!), but the analogue 1Step UHQLP freed more energy, and exposed the dimensionality of the instruments. Hence, the entire presentation was more engaging, and more intimate for me.
