TEKTON MOAB Loudspeaker, a Towering Statement?!

Recently, the country has underwent a ‘Conditional Movement Control Operation’ (CMCO). Therefore, home visitation was limited, at best! However, I managed to pay a visit to Encik Ariff, our local ‘audio gentleman’ who lived quite close to my home (previous visit to his audio den at ‘OPEN DOOR’). That visit was prompted by his newly arrived Tekton Moab loudspeakers from US of A. Interestingly, Tekton loudspeakers have been reviewed positively by a number of seasoned audio reviewers! And I believed that too moved our audio gentleman to commit into a pair without auditioning.

.

.

The following was his write up for the Tekton Moab loudspeakers at his own set up;

.

.

“This towering pair of 71 inches with footers has been in my den for the past few months. Many have commented on the colour I opted for these giants ( blue). All these years of indulging in audio some how or rather I have been very conservative in choices of colour but in these I broke away from my usual trait.

.

.
Well it took me a few months to get used to the colour and by now just got used to it. Sometime mid last year my partner and me we went down to Singapore hunting for audio stuff for his new house and in the process bought a power amp and heard some speakers from Wilson, YG , Raidho and few other reputable brands but we did not buy any.

.

.
By chance I met a friend who told me about Tekton and how great these speakers sound and these don’t cost an arm and leg.

.

.
My partner agreed to go for their flagship, The Ulfberth and he cajoled me to buy a pair too. I was having the Spendors Classic 200s and as such was reluctant, however I plunged for Tekton Moab which is below their flagship. As I did not go for high gloss version I got mine in three months from date of order.

.

.
When I took delivery I was really not expecting much as it needs to run in and loosen up. But from the time I fired up I knew I was onto something special . I just cannot believe my ears for such small out lay the Moab sounded fabulous.

.

.
Since then I have been listening to the speakers and never tired of it. Even after some many months it still surprises me with its performance. It’s a very revealing speakers nearing electrostatic performance but with body weight and authorityI like music to be enveloping but not smeared and in this area the Moab is second to none I have heard with excellent focus.

.

.

I like percussion and the Moab pleases me like no other speakers I experienced. I improved the performance by changing the footers to Gaia and this enhanced Moab’s performance to another level.
It’s so even handed that you would be only hard pressed to focus on the music not a segmented performance of the Speakers.
Without an iota of doubt Moabs does any genre well and it all depends on the source and amplification.

.

.
I am very happy with the performance and more so The Moab came in at a time of lockdowns (MCO) so that I could spend long hours listening to my collection.
Listen to ‘Dead can Dance’ you will know what I mean by enveloping sound”.

.

.

I have a few hours of listening to the Tekton Moab, and I too found them to be able to emit a wall to wall soundscape that extended to the listening position(s). Within that soundscape, the imaging and positioning of the musicians and instruments were quite articulatesolid and scaled. The lower frequencies/ bass were sufficiently delivered in quantum, strength and power!
.

.

In my opinion, after some experiences with his previous choices of loudspeakers, the Tekton Moab is indeed a SOLID UPGRADE!
