Most of us audiophile has heard MUDDY WATERS “FOLK SINGER”. Therefore, I played the ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS ULTRA TAPE R2R edition for some guests to introduce them to the format. Immediately, one of them exclaimed,
“the best sounding source I ‘ve ever heard”
He did share that Muddy Waters’ voice was not as forceful and shouty, comparatively. The guitar’s strings were tangible, dynamic, energized, and yet not etchy and harsh. To him, it was a step nearer to the native recording, comparatively.
