I have been waiting for the arrival of DS Master 1 since it’s introduction a couple of years ago. DS Audio’s Tetsuaki Aoyagi told me then that they could not build them fast enough to satisfy the market. I realized the reason why. After setting up the DS Master 1, I received a message from Tetsuaki to inform that the unit requires to be continuously switch on for about a month to properly run in for optimal performance. I am used to that.
My initial impression of the DS Master 1 was very positive. There was no audible hum or anomaly that plagued even the more expensive phono stage. The minute detail retrieval was impressive and the dynamic was explosive.
I am tempted to write the review now but as the message said…a month to run in!
